Abstract:

Hans-Thies Lehmann was a student of Peter Szondi, the developer of the theory of postdramatic theater, a rereader of the machine of tragedy and catharsis, an analyst of the politics of theater, a researcher of the “other” Brecht and, together with Andrzej Wirth, the founder of the Institute of Applied Theater Studies in Gießen. Lehmann died in Athens on July 16, 2022. He was 77 years old.
