Abstract:
This review is about Péter Kárpáti’s Térkép a túlvilágról (Map of the Afterlife) volume. The book contains an autobiographical essay-novel, seven plays, and a collection of essays, which argues for the elemental necessity of storytelling, the faithful preservation of myths, with captivating language and humour. In his authorial universe, reality and fairy tale become one in a way that never breaks away from their roots, so that, by the end, every story becomes a true story.
