Abstract:
The study applies a process-oriented point of view while exploring the many dramaturgical aspects of two theatrical rehearsal methods. Contemporary Hungarian playwright and director Péter Kárpáti has developed and uses his “improvisation of existence” or “reality simulation” method. Almost 100 years ago, during the rehearsals of Molière’s Tartuffe, which is known as his last direction, Konstantin Stanislavsky, director of the Moscow Art Theatre, applied a drastically different method than his previous works. The common ground for these two rehearsal methods could be found in their aim to develop a new approach for creating theatre.
