Zsuzsa Radnóti’s dramaturgical work focuses mainly on all-time Hungarian contemporary drama. She has been searching for upcoming playwrights, working in the development process, and, as a dramaturg, helping to bring those texts to the stage. Literature in motion is a collection of essays and articles on public issues which reveals the dramaturg’s working process, presents Radnóti’s long and rich presence in the theatrical field, and also offers a broad view of the history of Hungarian drama in the 20th and 21st centuries through Radnóti’s dissections of a selected group of 14 Hungarian playwrights’ ouvres. This book also contains essays about some problematic issues regarding contemporary cultural politics and decision-making. The majority of these texts have already been published, but the author carefully provides up-to-date information and context to each piece, thus showing that drama literature is an ever-changing and transforming structure.
