Abstract:

In my paper, I analyse examples of different forms of silence and repression in Tímár Liza, highlighting the gaps in the text marked by ellipses, the instances of stalling and falling silent marked in the stage directions, and the narrative-construction processes built into the plot, which often serve to gloss over reality.
