Rövid életrajz/Bio:

Jászay Tamás színházi kritikus, szerkesztő, egyetemi oktató és kurátor. 2003 óta több mint 1300 cikket publikált világszerte több mint 20 folyóiratban. 2008 óta a Revizor (www.revizoronline.com) kritikai portál társszerkesztője, 2021 óta pedig főszerkesztőként dolgozik. 2013-ban védte meg a Krétakör Színház történetéről írt doktori értekezését. Az elmúlt évtizedben kurátorként is tevékeny, például a THEALTER Fesztiválon (Szeged, 2014 óta) és a dunaPart3-on (Budapest, 2015, 2017, 2019). 2009 és 2013 között a Kaposvári Egyetemen tanított színháztörténetet és színházelméletet leendő színészeknek. 2015 februárja óta a Szegedi Tudományegyetemen tanít, 2019 óta adjunktusként.

Abstract:

József Ruszt’s production The Eighth Circle of Hell, created in collaboration with the Universitas Ensemble, can be considered one of the first significant theatrical interpretations of the Holocaust experience in Hungary. Through its sharp, deliberate use of theatrical devices, the performance confronted the audience with the unspeakable nature of the trauma. For a long time, both contemporaries and later generations interpreted the performance almost exclusively through the lens of the Polish director Jerzy Grotowski, who admittedly exerted a powerful influence on Ruszt.
